In the spirit of jwz's observation on Linux, Prokofy Neva actually writes another cogent article on what really props up Second Life's economy. At this rate, Mr. Neva might actually be moving away from his reputation as the Grid's wordiest crank.

I don't normally get involved in the echo-chamber of the Second Life forums and the meta-gaming politics surrounding the Grid. But considering what I have seen of him, I'm shocked that Prokofy Neva actually wrote something that made sense.

SL Live Music Festival!

When I'm not riding the range, my real-life avatar likes to pick up a guitar and play some more modern rock and roll. He'll likely be attending the SL Live Music Fest in Philadelphia this Saturday night, simulcast at Clover's Auditorium in Bombyx. I've applied to write a Second Life blog for Weblogs, Inc. Granted, I haven't been blogging here long, but my real-life avatar has oodles of experience. ;-)

Life on other worlds

Yes, there are other worlds than Second Life, but as Lore Sjöberg describes, it's a grim existence full of arbitrary tasks. No telehubs, let alone teleportation of any kind. "That's right, bunky. You're gonna run."

On the creation of this weblog

Having been a resident of Second Life for nearly a year now, I believe it's time to step out into the larger world, or at the very least the World Wide Web. So here I am!

Perhaps when I build things or conduct commerce and socializing I will discuss it here. In the meantime, do feel free to stop by my home among the clouds in Verbier.
